Our Framing and Design Gallery also specializes in shadow boxes, and the care of antiques and artifacts. We start by using only acid-free materials. For this particular project, linen has been mounted to foam core to provide a stiff backing. The artifacts have been carefully placed to insure visual balance, and then sewn to the backing with hidden, strategic stitches. Shadow box frames have been custom built to size, and plexi glass cut to size. Interior “walls” have been constructed using the same linen. The last step in the process is to seal the back of the frame to protect objects and insure their well-preserved life.
